Growing Homes is a concept proposal for a house typology that is easily reconfigured and adapted. The concept follows the understanding that families typically change and grow and if a house is to remain their home it needs to change and grow along with them.

The lifelong journey of this social unit called ‘family’ starts with a young couple planning to have a child. For them we build an affordable starter home big enough for the three of them. Over two phases of future works the house expands to accommodate five bedrooms. A prefabricated panelised system allows this expansion to happen over a matter of weeks and not months.

This model is designed to maximise efficiency, be inexpensive and environmentally sustainable. Your garden will always be your garden and your home will always be your home.
